Voyager Expanded Learning Launches Vmath®Level C for Second Grade
DALLAS, June 11, 2009— Voyager Expanded Learning® announced today the launch of Vmath®, Level C for second grade students who struggle with math. Built from Voyager's current, proven-effective Vmath intervention model for grades three through eight, Vmath Level C, blends teacher-led instruction and student-centered technology with implementation support to help teachers differentiate instruction. The program provides systematic, scaffolded instruction along with a built-in assessment system to monitor student progress toward grade level goals.
"We continue to see success among third through eighth grade students using Vmath and believe Vmath Level C will fulfill the need for an intervention program of this type in the lower grades," says Ron Klausner, president of Voyager Expanded Learning.
Vmath Level C is designed to effectively complement any core math program by providing an additional focus on the foundational concepts and skills students need to be successful in math. With its flexible modular format, Vmath can be used during the school day or in before or after school, weekend, or summer school programs.
Through VmathLive®, the student-centered technology component included with Vmath Level C, students can extend the school day and increase their time on task. VmathLive provides students with a fun and motivating way to practice math skills, strategies and concepts, prepare for high stakes tests, and play in real-time competitions of speed and skill with other students from around the world.
Teachers and administrators implementing Vmath Level C can also track student progress using Voyager's online data management system, VPORT®. A pre- and post- test component also lets teachers determine if students have mastered key skills, and a test prep component gives students opportunities for self-assessment and review.
Teachers receive year-long service and support from Voyager through an ongoing partnership that includes comprehensive professional development through launch training, online product training, and support via phone, email, and the Voyager Website.
