Voyager Expanded Learning and 3P Learning Host 3rd Annual World Math Day Competition
Students from around the globe compete online as they strive to answer the most math questions correctly
DALLAS, January 23, 2009- Voyager Expanded Learning® and 3P Learning announced today that they will again host a free, Web-based World Math Day competition on Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Children of all ages and ability levels from around the globe will unite in their quest to set a world record in answering math questions correctly at www.worldmathday.com .
The event will begin on March 4 west of the International Dateline and continue through to the last minute of March 4 east of the International Dateline. Students will take part in real-time battles of speed and skill and may participate either at home or at school.
Last year more than 750,000 children from 160 countries came together to answer 182,455,169 questions correctly. This year's goal is to have one and a half million students from 165 countries answer 250 million math questions correctly. Registration for the event begins on February 1, 2009, and ends on March 1, 2009.
Existing Voyager VmathLive schools and 3P Learning Mathletic schools ( www.vmathlive.com ) will have automatic entry into the event. Teachers and students can register free of charge at www.worldmathday.com .
