The LANGUAGE! curriculum, designed by Jane Fell Greene, Ed.D., was piloted in 1994 with 45 adjudicated minority students, ages 13 to 17, who were compared to a non-treatment control group in the same correctional program. Over 22 weeks, significant and noteworthy gains were achieved by LANGUAGE! students in oral reading rate and accuracy, reading comprehension, spelling, and word identification. Since that auspicious beginning, the LANGUAGE! curriculum has continued to fortify its strong research foundation. |
